REGULATIONS OF THE CULTURAL-RECREATIONAL EVENT FOR APPROACHING STREET BOULDERING
ULASSAI, 19 APRIL 2025
The practice of sport climbing, and more specifically street bouldering, in the public areas affected by the event in question, is permitted after having read and unconditionally accepted by signing the present regulation, which is also displayed in the vicinity of the climbing areas.
1. Purpose of the event
The recreational-motor event organized by APS Proloco Ulassai aims to promote street bouldering as a cultural and sporting activity, encouraging the discovery and valorization of the territory. The event includes the setting up of about 40 boulder blocks open to all participants. The activity will take place outside, in the streets of the town, and will therefore be a street bouldering event, which involves the use of walls and urban structures as climbing elements.
The recreational-motor activity linked to the Ulassai event takes place in a natural environment and involves climbing on walls, called blocks or boulders, to be scaled without the use of a rope. The organization provides a map with a non-exclusive proposal of areas and blocks on which to carry out the climbing activity. Participants are not free to climb outside the areas proposed by the organization, which are not indicated on the map.
2. How to participate
The recreational-motor event is open to all, subject to pre-registration online and/or registration at the reception point organized by APS Proloco Ulassai.
All participants must sign a liability waiver. Minors may only participate with written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Online registration is considered completed upon payment of the participation fee. Upon completion of registration, each participant receives a confirmation email containing the data to access their reserved area. Payment is made using the Stripe platform, which can accept major credit, debit and prepaid cards. It is also possible to register directly on the days of the event, by showing up at the registration stand within the town (reachable via the map) during opening hours 9:30.
The cost of registration is 15/20 euros
Registration entitles you to participate in the event and related services, including the t-shirt of the 2025 edition of the event, to be collected exclusively at the Ulassai stand on the day of the event. The t-shirts of the event will be delivered up to a maximum of 100 units.
Participation requires a registration fee of 15/20 euros, which includes access to the blocks, a map of the blocks, the rules of the activity and an event t-shirt. Everything else is not included in the cost and is the responsibility of the participant.
3. Access methods
Access to the climbing area is subject to the event schedule and will be regulated by the presence of service personnel. The service personnel has the right to remove from the area anyone who behaves in a manner that does not comply with the provisions of this regulation.
Access is permitted only to participants in possession of an identification bracelet issued by the Organization during registration and declaration of responsibility. During the activity each participant must adopt a polite, diligent and hygienic behavior, respecting the instructions of the service personnel to ensure everyone's safety.
In the prize blocks, participants will have to self-certify the “climb” of the block via video and/or photo, which must be shown directly to the organizers in the event of a random check. The videos and/or photos will then be viewed by the organizers who will have the task of verifying and validating the closing of the block and recording the “climb”. The prize of each block will then be divided among the participants who have managed to close it. The number of attempts to close the prize blocks, within the times established by the organization, is unlimited.
4. Safety regulations
The Ulassai event is based on the concept of awareness of one's abilities and limits during climbing and is based on the self-protection of athletes as per the behavioral codes inherent in this practice for years.
It is however mandatory that participants are equipped with a crashpad mattress to be placed under the climbing seat block and which can help cushion the impact in the event of a fall to the ground.
In some circumstances, such as in bad weather, the event managers may decide to prevent access to one or more blocks of the prize circuit that, in their sole discretion, do not guarantee correct use.
Participants, during the accreditation process at the country of the event, will sign a release that exonerates the organizers of the event from any liability.
-
The use of climbing shoes is mandatory.
-
The use of crash pads for protection during the activity is mandatory.
-
Participants must carry out the activity safely, avoiding dangerous movements or movements that could cause harm to others present.
-
It is forbidden to carry out activities under the influence of alcohol or mind-altering substances.
-
The organizers reserve the right to remove anyone who behaves in a dangerous manner or does not respect the rules of the event.
5. Event Rules
The fun-motor event will take place from morning to late afternoon. Each participant will have a maximum time to try the designated blocks.
Each participant will have to fill out a Google form to record the routes climbed during the activity, a requirement necessary to access a final evaluation. The evaluation will be based on the number of blocks completed and the number of attempts made to overcome them. The jury, composed at the sole discretion of the organization, will be made up of volunteers who are bouldering experts.
A 1st prize for men and a 1st prize for women will be awarded, as well as many other fantastic prizes drawn by lottery.
